Baking soda gargle - Most people do salt water gargles, but gargling with baking soda mixed with salt water also provides relief from sore throat. Baking soda water kills bacteria and fungi in the throat. Add 1 cup warm water, 1 /4 teaspoon baking soda and 1 /8 teaspoon salt and gargle with it every three hours.
Fenugreek - this is beneficial for health in many ways and it is available in many forms. You can eat fenugreek seeds, use its oil or you can make fenugreek tea and drink it. Fenugreek tea is a natural remedy for sore throat. According to research, fenugreek has the ability to cure diseases and it can kill the bacteria that cause irritation or inflammation in the throat. Fenugreek is also an effective antifungal. However, pregnant women should avoid the consumption of fenugreek.
Licorice root - Licorice root has been used for a long time in sore throat. A recent research shows that it works more effectively when mixed with gargle water. However, pregnant and breast feeding women should not try this recipe.
Apple cider vinegar - Many natural antibacterial properties are found in apple cider vinegar that fight infection effectively. Being acidic, it pulls out the mucus trapped in the throat and prevents the spread of bacteria. If you are having a sore throat problem, then dissolve 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water and gargle with it. Take small sips of this mixture, and repeat the whole process twice in an hour.
Garlic - Natural antibacterial properties are also found in garlic. The allicin found in it has the ability to fight infection. According to studies, eating garlic every day helps in preventing the cold virus. Include garlic in your daily diet. Sucking garlic cloves is also an old recipe to get rid of sore throat. However, brush it after eating it, otherwise bad breath may increase.
